World of Warcraft is the massively multiplayer online game that grew out of Blizzard's Warcraft strategy series and became one of the most influential games ever made. Launched in 2004, it invited millions of players into the shared world of Azeroth to quest, raid, and group up across a vast fantasy landscape, splitting the world between the Alliance and the Horde. For years it set the standard for what an online world could be.
The series here is the long chain of expansions, from The Burning Crusade and the acclaimed Wrath of the Lich King through to the modern era, plus the back-to-basics Classic servers. It is games-only, but it is less a set of separate games than one continuous world that has been running, and evolving, for two decades.
The World of Warcraft franchise spans 11 games in the CrossBinge catalog.
