The Battlefront games turn the Star Wars films inside out, dropping you into the boots of the anonymous troopers who usually die in the background of someone else's heroics. The original 2004 entry and its 2005 sequel, built by Pandemic, were large-scale battle simulators: capture points, vehicles, and the iconic locations of the original and prequel trilogies rendered as playgrounds for chaos.
A decade later EA and DICE rebooted the name with the 2015 Battlefront and its 2017 follow-up, trading the older games' breadth for spectacle and the best-looking Star Wars combat to that point.
