Sherry Cola
Sherry Cola is an actor, born 1989.
Radio came first, then stand-up, and both are audible in the acting. Cola talks fast, lands on the syllable you were not expecting, and is very difficult to make sound scripted, which is why comedies keep seating her next to the lead and letting her go.
Her screen debut came in 2017 on I Love Dick, which is not among the credits gathered here. The job that built her was Alice Kwan on Good Trouble, played from 2019 to 2024. Five years inside one character on a Freeform drama is unglamorous work, and it is where the timing got trained.
2023 did the rest. Joy Ride cast her as Lolo, one of four leads in a road comedy with a genuinely filthy engine, and Shortcomings gave her Alice Lee, a drier and sharper version of the same instrument. Together they made the argument: she can be the loudest person in a film without being the least interesting one in it.
The work since has been constant and mostly comic: Stella in A Family Affair, Ashley in Nobody Wants This, Maya in Shrinking, Nadine in Bride Hard, Linda in Good Fortune, plus a growing shelf of animation in Turning Red, The Tiger's Apprentice, Thelma the Unicorn and the SpongeBob film. She plays herself in Freakier Friday, which is a small joke about how recognisable the voice has become.

Where to start with Sherry Cola
Joy Ride is the loud front door and the right one. Lolo made the case for her, and the film is more interesting than its marketing suggested, funnier and angrier about identity than a studio comedy usually gets to be.
Shortcomings is the corrective: same performer, quieter register, better film. Good Trouble is the long haul, years of a character growing up, and it rewards anyone who wants to watch technique get built rather than displayed. Turning Red and The Tiger's Apprentice are the animation credits worth hearing. Nobody Wants This and Shrinking are the guest slots where she reliably takes the scene off whoever is meant to have it. Skip Freakier Friday and Bride Hard unless you are working through the whole shelf.
