The project was co-produced by Bowie and Mark Plati and featured musicians from Bowie's then-touring band, Plati, Earl Slick, Gail Ann Dorsey, Mike Garson and Sterling Campbell, with overdubs from Lisa Germano, Gerry Leonard and Cuong Vu.
