RTL Tonight (2025)
RTL Tonight is a 2025 Dutch-language talk series. It stars Shay Kreuger, Humberto Tan and Michiel Vos.
Dutch late evening ran on first names for years: Renze, Humberto, Beau. RTL Tonight folds all three of those shows into one title.
The programme started on RTL 4 on 31 August 2025 with a shared chair. Beau van Erven Dorens, Humberto Tan and Leonie ter Braak take turns presenting, so the slot and the set stay put while the temperature at the table changes with whoever is running the night. Renze Klamer was part of that rotation at the launch and stopped presenting in November 2025, which left the three current hosts to carry it.
The guest list stays deliberately mixed. Ahmed Aboutaleb, Lale Gül, Dilan Yeşilgöz, Albert Verlinde, Josine Droogendijk and Shay Kreuger have all sat at that table, a range that runs from public life to books and television without settling into one beat.
Viewers outside the Netherlands should know what they are getting. This is a domestic conversation held in Dutch, pitched at an audience that recognises most of the names before the introduction finishes, and built on the pull of the hosts rather than on any exportable format. For anyone following the Dutch conversation, it is a steady way to hear the week's topics gone over by the people closest to them.

A few thoughts on RTL Tonight
Talk shows rarely have clean counterparts in print or on film, so the shelf here is short and worth being honest about. The closest thing in the catalogue is Good Morning Show (2016), a Japanese feature set inside a live morning broadcast, where the presenters keep the hour moving while the plan behind it comes apart. Watch it after an episode of RTL Tonight and the calm at the table reads differently, since someone is always counting down in an earpiece.
After that, follow the guests rather than the genre. Most of them arrive with work of their own behind the appearance, on the page or on another screen, and that work gives the same arguments the room a studio hour cannot.
Dutch and Flemish evening shows in the same slot
RTL Tonight took the hour that Renze, Humberto and Beau each held under their own first names, so the rivals matter more than the format label. Vandaag Inside runs on three men at a table, De Avondshow met Arjen Lubach files the week down to a punchline, and De Ideale Wereld does that job from Flanders.
Late night talk shows from the rest of Europe
RTL Tonight follows a European habit: build the evening around a host the country calls by first name, then rotate the chair. Rudi Carrell carried his Dutch timing into German prime time. Stern TV turned the same desk toward reporting, Salut les Terriens booked guests who argue back, and Evening Urgant ran the Moscow version.
Talk shows where the booking carries the hour
RTL Tonight seats a mayor next to a singer next to a footballer on purpose, and the guest list does more work than the host. Carson built that template on the American desk, Cavett let conversations run long, Kelly Clarkson trades a song for the introduction, and Zomergasten gives one guest a whole summer evening.
