Train to Busan turned a simple premise, a zombie outbreak aboard a speeding express train, into one of the most propulsive horror films of its decade. The confined carriages force the survivors into constant motion and constant moral choice, and the result is as much a story about who people become under pressure as it is about the infected clawing through the doors.
The series widened from there. Seoul Station is an animated prequel tracing the outbreak's first hours in the city, while Peninsula moves into wide-open post-apocalyptic wasteland years later. It is a films-only Korean franchise, and the original remains the high point: lean, brutal, and surprisingly moving.
The Train to Busan franchise spans 3 movies in the CrossBinge catalog.
