Frogwares adventure games

For two decades, Ukrainian studio Frogwares has built the most sustained video-game version of Sherlock Holmes, casting the player as the detective rather than a spectator. These point-and-click and later third-person adventures put you in the deerstalker yourself: gathering clues, cross-examining suspects, and assembling deductions, with later entries like Crimes & Punishments (2014) letting you reach your own conclusions and even accuse the wrong person.

The span here runs from early, more traditional adventure games (The Mystery of the Mummy, 2002) through pulpy crossover cases against Jack the Ripper and Arsene Lupin, to the open-world origin story Chapter One (2021). The quality varies, but the throughline is a genuine attempt to make players think like Holmes rather than just watch him. A games-only series.

The Frogwares adventure games franchise spans 9 games in the CrossBinge catalog.
