Anderson live-action films

These are the Paul W. S. Anderson live-action films adapted from Capcom's Resident Evil games, the first wave of a long-running movie franchise. Rather than retell the games faithfully, they invent a new lead, Alice, and build a globe-trotting action series around the Umbrella Corporation, its leaked virus, and the zombies and mutated creatures it unleashes.

The opening trilogy moves from a sealed underground lab in the original (2002) to a quarantined city in Apocalypse (2004) and out into a ruined Nevada desert in Extinction (2007). The tone shifts steadily away from horror and toward straight action spectacle as the scale grows.

A screen-only run of zombie-apocalypse films, more interested in set pieces and its invincible heroine than in faithfully reproducing the source games.

The Anderson live-action films franchise spans 3 movies in the CrossBinge catalog.

Part of Resident Evil.
