The Persona games spun off from Atlus's older, darker Shin Megami Tensei role-playing series and grew into a phenomenon of their own. The hook is the blend: half turn-based dungeon crawler about summoning inner spirits called Personas, half high-school life sim about friendships, exams and part-time jobs. Persona 3, 4 and 5 refined that formula into some of the most stylish role-playing games around, with Persona 5 in particular pushing a bold red-and-black visual identity.
The series spreads well beyond the main games here, into fighting-game and rhythm-game spin-offs, into anime adaptations like Persona 4 The Animation, and into its prized soundtracks of acid jazz and pop. Music and style are not decoration in Persona, they are a large part of why these games feel cooler than almost anything else in the genre.
The The Persona series franchise spans 3 series, 20 games, 1 music in the CrossBinge catalog.
Part of Megami Tensei.
