Five credits is not much to judge an actor on, and Tyler Barnhardt's are honest about where he currently sits: a run of series roles where the character has one clear function in somebody else's story. Born in Raleigh in 1993, he is best known as Charlie St. George in 13 Reasons Why, the football player the show uses as its decent one, and as Matthew Roe in the period drama Underground, which is not among the credits listed here.
The rest is a tour of the streaming era's genre slate. Danny Jansson in Tales from the Loop, Amazon's quiet science fiction anthology built out of Simon Stalenhag's paintings. Jacob in the outbreak thriller The Passage. Connor Satterfield in Bel-Air, the dramatic reworking of a nineties sitcom. His one film credit here is a supporting part in the Netflix comedy Senior Year.
It is a small body of work so far and there is no point inflating it. What the pattern shows is an actor being cast, repeatedly and deliberately, for warmth, in shows that need somebody to stand for ordinary decency while everyone around them behaves badly.

Where to start with Tyler Barnhardt
The best thing here is Tales from the Loop, and it is also the best use of him: a melancholy science fiction anthology in which every episode watches ordinary people mishandle something impossible.
Most viewers will arrive from 13 Reasons Why, where Charlie St. George is the character the later seasons lean on for decency. Start there only if you want the show itself, which is a heavy watch by design.
Bel-Air is the slickest of the three, The Passage the pulpiest, and Senior Year is a broad comedy that gives him a small period-costume turn.
