A reverend in Belgravia: The Next Chapter, Tom Mitford in Outrageous, Jim Fairley in a 2026 adaptation of A Woman of Substance. He has spent more than a decade playing young men born into a position they are not certain they can hold.
He started earlier and stranger than that suggests. As a teenager he played Nemo at sixteen in Mr. Nobody, a science-fiction film assembled out of branching versions of one life, and Jim Hawkins in a 2012 Treasure Island, the closest thing on this list to a straightforward hero. Glorious 39 and One Day placed him at the edges of prestige British film, and Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You handed him an American lead while he was still very young.
The recent work is where it gets interesting. He starred in Platform 7 in 2023, took a role in Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game, and turned up in the comedy Chivalry. He works constantly, across British costume drama, American network television and small independent film, and has never had the single part that fixes a face permanently in the public mind. For an actor with this range, that is frequently the more durable career.

Where to start with Toby Regbo
Mr. Nobody is the most interesting film he is in and the best introduction, though be warned that it is a long, deliberately fragmented picture and he is one of several actors playing the same person.
For television, Reign is the big audience and the least serious of them, an American network costume drama that treats the sixteenth century as a teen soap and is quite enjoyable on those terms. The Last Kingdom is the far better show, and Aethelred is the more demanding role: an unlikeable man played without any bid for sympathy.
Platform 7 is the strongest recent thing, a contained drama that gives him the lead. Treasure Island is the charming early one, and Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You and A Discovery of Witches fill in either end of the range.
