Sosie Bacon

Sosie Bacon is an actor, born 1992.

Sosie Bacon was ten when she made her first film, playing Emily in Loverboy, and her parents, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, did not push her to continue. The next step came from outside the family: the producer James Duff encouraged her to take a part on The Closer, so the career started from someone else's conviction rather than from a plan.

What followed was a long stretch of small, serious parts in projects that did not always work. She played Patricia Krenwinkel in Charlie Says, one of the hardest assignments available to a young actor, since the film asks her to play a real person and refuses to hand the audience an easy verdict on her. There was Scream: The TV Series, Here and Now, Wyrm, Story of a Girl, The Last Summer. Then Carrie Layden in Mare of Easttown, a supporting role in a very good show, played with none of the sentimentality the part invites.

Smile made her a lead. Rose Cotter is in almost every frame of a horror film that hangs entirely on whether an audience believes she is losing her grip, and Bacon carries it without ever tipping into the wide-eyed register the genre usually settles for. It was the film that changed the size of the offers, and Cold Storage and Family Movie both arrive in 2026.

Where to start with Sosie Bacon

Watch Smile. It is a genuine showcase rather than a horror lead in name only: she is on screen almost continuously, the film runs on her deterioration, and it works because she plays exhaustion instead of terror.

Mare of Easttown is the counter-argument, a supporting role in an ensemble whose whole method is that nobody appears to be performing. Watch both and you have the range.

Then go backwards. Charlie Says is the most demanding thing on the list and the least comfortable. The Closer is where it started, opposite her mother, and Loverboy is the childhood credit that opens the story. Story of a Girl and The Last Summer cover the young-adult middle period, and Cold Storage is next up.
