Sayumi Watabe
Sayumi Watabe is an actor, born 1997.
Sayumi Watabe is a Japanese voice actress from Hokkaido, born in 1997 and affiliated with the agency Sigma Seven. Her credit list is a good illustration of how the seiyuu industry actually works, which is not how fandom describes it: a very large number of small named parts, a handful of leads, and a constant presence across seasonal anime that most viewers never connect to a single performer.
The role that anchors everything is Akira Tachibana in After the Rain, a high-school runner working shifts in a family restaurant. It is a genuinely difficult part. The character is guarded and says almost nothing she means, so the performance has to carry an interior life through pauses, and Watabe plays her without any of the vocal cuteness the medium usually reaches for.
Elsewhere she covers the range the job demands. Eleonore Bianca in The Misfit of Demon King Academy and Freezing Astaroth in Combatants Will Be Dispatched! are the broad, arch, comic register. Yeon Yihwa in Tower of God and Shierra in Mushoku Tensei are fantasy supporting roles in large productions. Then there is the long tail: a vendor, a presenter, a high school girl, a princess. That is a working actress's filmography, and the small parts are how the large ones get earned.

Where to start with Sayumi Watabe
After the Rain is the one to watch first and the only title here that needs no qualification: a beautifully restrained series about a teenager's crush on her middle-aged manager, carried by an Akira who barely says what she means at any point.
For the loud end of her range, The Misfit of Demon King Academy is enjoyable nonsense and Eleonore Bianca is one of its better jokes, while Combatants Will Be Dispatched! is broader still.
Tower of God and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation are the big fantasy productions where her supporting roles are worth following, and BEASTARS is the most artistically interesting series on the list even though her part in it is minor. For the recent work, 2.5 Dimensional Seduction hands her Aria Kisaki and a much larger comic canvas.
