Sara Evans
Sara Evans grew up on a farm in Missouri and was singing in her family's band at four, which is the sort of biography Nashville likes but in her case happens to be true. Born to Fly made her a headliner in 2000 and the title track won the CMA video award. She has had five number one country singles and sold more than six million albums, mostly by staying on the traditional side of a format that spent her whole career drifting toward pop. She has also competed on Dancing with the Stars and written a memoir.

No Place That Far is the earlier record where the voice arrives before the production catches up, and Restless is the most commercially successful of the three.
