Look at the character names first: Student, Female Student, Girl A, Cotton's Second Daughter, Girl from the Party of Five. That is the honest working life of a Japanese voice actress in her first decade, and Saho Shirasu's credit list does not disguise it. She debuted in 2017 in a video game, Layered Stories Zero, joined Mausu Promotion through their training school, and has been building the way the system requires: unnamed parts in the big shows, real parts in the smaller ones.

The real parts are the reason to pay attention. Mio Kofune in Summer Time Rendering, Charlotte Arisaka Anderson in The Detective Is Already Dead, Noma Rune in Immoral Guild, Toma Asahi in Xicatrice, Yoko Shiraki in Time Patrol Bon.

The through-line is a brightness that does not tip into shrillness, which is harder to hold than it sounds when the material is broad. Summer Time Rendering is the outlier and the best evidence, since a suspense series asks a young performer for things a comedy never will, and Mio is the sort of role a career gets dated from afterwards.
