Rob Benedict
Rob Benedict is an actor, born 1970.
Benedict runs two careers at once: he acts, and he is the lead singer and songwriter of the Los Angeles band Louden Swain. The second is not a hobby attached to the first, and it has run alongside it for years.
The acting is best known for Supernatural. Before that he was a working television actor of the late 1990s and 2000s, playing Richard Coad on Felicity and Lucas Pegg on Threshold, the sort of anxious, decent, quick-talking men casting directors kept finding a use for. He is very good at nerves. Almost every part on his list involves a man who is thinking faster than he can speak.
His best film work is comic and small-scale. Waiting... (2005) is the one to point at: as Calvin he plays social paralysis, a young man undone by self-consciousness, and he does it without begging the audience to like him, which is harder than the film's reputation suggests. He came back for Still Waiting... (2009). Around those sit steady supporting turns in State of Play (2009), Kicking and Screaming (2005), Touch, A Little Help (2010), a Lucifer role as Vincent Le Mec, and Chuck Gray on Stick in 2025. It is a durable, unglamorous career, and the band is not a sideline to it.

Where to start with Rob Benedict
Start with Waiting.... It is a crude restaurant comedy with a genuinely sweet performance buried inside it, and his storyline gets the best payoff of the lot. Still Waiting... exists mainly for people who wanted more of the first.
For the dramatic side, Threshold is the strongest showcase, a short-lived science fiction series where his character's nerves are the point, and Felicity shows the early version of the same energy. State of Play drops him into a newsroom thriller in a small part, Touch and Lucifer are the reliable guest-star work, and Stick is the most recent thing here. Supernatural is why most people look him up, and it is the obvious next stop after these.
