Peter Outerbridge
Peter Outerbridge is an actor, born 1966.
Peter Outerbridge has built a career almost entirely inside genre television, most of it Canadian, and the catalog holds more than fifty credits to prove it. Born in Toronto in 1966, he took the lead in ReGenesis as Dr. David Sandstrom, played Ari Tasarov across Nikita, Bob Corbett in Bomb Girls and Hank Johanssen in Orphan Black. He also played Detective William Murdoch in a three-episode Murdoch Mysteries miniseries, two parts in 2004 and a third in 2005. Neither Orphan Black nor those Murdoch episodes are in this catalog.
Horror is the other half. William Easton in Saw VI is the best-known film role, and around it sit Land of the Dead, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, Haunter, Shut In, Level 16 and V Wars, plus Roman Sionis in Batwoman and Clint Bowers in IT: Welcome to Derry. He is the reliable answer when a production needs a man who seems entirely reasonable until roughly the second act.
The interesting outliers are early. Josef Grool in Cool Runnings in 1993 is the credit most people have seen without knowing it. Kissed and Better Than Chocolate in the late 1990s put him in two of the more daring Canadian independent films of the period, and they remain the strongest evidence that the genre work is a choice rather than a ceiling.

Where to start with Peter Outerbridge
Nikita is the easiest way in, a slick action series where Ari Tasarov gives him a long, controlled antagonist arc rather than a single episode of menace.
The role Canadian audiences know him for is in ReGenesis, a science drama that took its own subject seriously and let him play a brilliant, difficult scientist for years. It is the most substantial thing on this list.
For the horror, go to Saw VI, the entry in that series with the most on its mind, largely because of him. Land of the Dead and Level 16 are the other two worth the time, the second a genuinely nasty little dystopia.
Cool Runnings is the childhood-memory credit, Batwoman the comic-book villain, and Kissed the small strange indie that shows what else he can do.

ReGenesis is the one to seek out and is very hard to find outside Canada, a scientist whose competence and self-destruction run at exactly the same speed across four seasons.
