Pat Cadigan is an author.
Patricia Oren Kearney Cadigan is a British-American science fiction writer, usually filed with the cyberpunk movement and often called its queen, largely because she was one of the few writers of that moment more interested in what technology does inside a head than in what it does to a city. Her novels and stories keep returning to the interface between mind and machine. Her debut novel, Mindplayers, was nominated for the Philip K. Dick Award in 1988. She has since won a Hugo and two Locus Awards, one for a novelette and one for a collection.

Where to start with Pat Cadigan
Synners is the one, and it is the best Cyberpunk novel most people have not read: four characters, a brain-socket technology going commercial, and a network catching something it cannot name. Read it before the more famous male-authored classics, not after. The catalogue is thin on her otherwise, so Clarkesworld Issue 137 and Echoes: The Saga Anthology of Ghost Stories are the short-fiction places to find her; Mindplayers and Fools are worth hunting outside it.
