Miles Heizer is an actor, born 1994.
Miles Heizer started at the top of a call sheet and then spent a decade working his way back toward being noticed. His debut, in Rails & Ties, was a real part: Davey Danner, the boy the film is built around. He was born in Greenville, Kentucky in 1994, which means that by the time most viewers learned his name he had already spent a childhood on set.
Parenthood is where the technique got built. Drew Holt was a teenager in a large, loud ensemble, which is a role that lives or dies on reaction shots, and Heizer learned to play interior weather: reluctance, embarrassment, the pause before a sentence someone did not want to start. That is what 13 Reasons Why then bought. Alex Standall carries some of the heaviest material in that series, and the performance holds up better than the show around it.
Since then he has mostly been the friend rather than the lead. Cal in Love, Simon. Tommy in Nerve. One of the volunteers in The Stanford Prison Experiment. Josh Manning in Rudderless, and a small part in Roman J. Israel, Esq. Boots put him back at the front in 2025 as Cameron Cope, with People We Meet on Vacation following, which reads like an actor being rediscovered by casting directors who forgot he had been doing this since he was a kid.

Where to start with Miles Heizer
The entry point is 13 Reasons Why, not because it is the best thing he has done but because it is the most of him: a full arc across the run, and the heaviest material anyone has handed him. Watch a season, then go backwards to Parenthood, where the same instincts are used at a much lower volume and arguably to better effect.
Love, Simon is the easiest watch here and shows how well he plays a good friend without turning saintly. The Stanford Prison Experiment is the one to reach for if you want him inside an ensemble under pressure. Rudderless and Nerve are minor. If you are meeting him fresh, Boots is the current lead role and the fairest test of whether he can carry a series on his own.
