Matt Doran is an Australian actor, born in Sydney in 1976, who was a household face at home long before anyone abroad noticed him. He played Damian Roberts on the soap Home and Away from 1991 to 1996, five years of daily television that began when he was a teenager.
Two small parts then made him globally recognisable without making him a star. He is Mouse in The Matrix, the youngest of the crew and the one who built the woman in the red dress, and he is Elan Sleazebaggano in Attack of the Clones, the Coruscant nightclub dealer on the receiving end of a Jedi mind trick, which is one of the most quoted exchanges in that film. Both parts are brief. Both stuck.
The rest is solid work in Australian and international productions: Private Coombs in The Thin Red Line, The Great Raid, Malcolm in the 2006 Australian Macbeth, Major Noel Ford in Danger Close, and Interceptor in 2022.
