Mackenzie Foy

Mackenzie Foy is an actor, born 2000.

Mackenzie Christine Foy was born in Los Angeles in 2000 and worked as a child model as well as an actress. Her breakout was Renesmee in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 in 2012, which brought a Young Artist Award nomination, and she followed it immediately with Cindy Perron in The Conjuring.

Then came the part that would justify a much longer career than the one she has chosen. She plays Murph at ten in Interstellar, and the film's entire emotional structure is bolted to her: if you do not believe the child refusing to say goodbye, nothing that follows for the next two hours has any weight. She is remarkable in it, furious rather than sad, and she won a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor.

What she did next is unusual for a young actor with that kind of leverage. She worked rarely and took leads rather than franchise slots: the voice of the girl in The Little Prince, Clara in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, an expensive Disney fantasy that nobody has thought about since, and Jo Green in Black Beauty. Her filmography runs to about a dozen titles in total. She returned to Cindy Perron for The Conjuring: Last Rites in 2025.

Where to start with Mackenzie Foy

Everything starts with Interstellar. Watch the first act specifically for her, and note that the ten-year-old is doing the load-bearing acting in a very expensive science-fiction film, opposite an adult cast that is not going easy on her.

The Conjuring is next, a much better haunted-house film than the genre usually manages, with Foy as one of the daughters whose reactions the film keeps checking.

After that the list is short and pleasant: The Little Prince for the voice work, which is the most delicate thing she has done, Black Beauty for a straightforward lead, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms if you want to see a young actor carrying a film that cannot carry her back. Completists can add The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
