Macarena Achaga
Achaga came to acting sideways, through modelling and then music. She was a member of the Mexican-Argentine pop group Eme 15 from 2011 to 2014, and her acting debut arrived in 2012 on the teen series Miss XV, which ran alongside the band.
The part that changed her standing was Valentina Carvajal in Amar a Muerte, and it is still the one she is identified with. Around it she has built a career that moves between Mexican and Argentine production without committing to either: Oliva Nieves in the narco drama La piloto, Luciana in the thriller The Wrath of God, Julieta in the 2022 Father of the Bride. She presents on television as well, which in Latin American careers is a parallel track rather than a sideline, and she continues to sing.
The result is a performer who is usefully hard to categorise, and that has clearly been a choice rather than an accident. Model, band member, telenovela lead, film actress, host: each of those would have been enough to settle into, and she has not settled into any of them.

Where to start with Macarena Achaga
Amar a Muerte is the reason most people arrive at her name, and it is the correct starting point. The show drew far more attention than its slot suggested, and her half of its central relationship is a large part of why.
The Wrath of God is the best-made thing on this list, a tight Argentine thriller that gives her an adult lead rather than a romantic one, and it is the strongest argument that she can carry serious material. La piloto is the pure genre option, cartel melodrama at full throttle. Miss XV is where it began and is really only for people who want the teen-pop version of her. Father of the Bride is the lightest thing here and the easiest to find.
