Lev Grossman
Lev Grossman is an author.
Lev Grossman is an American novelist and journalist who was the book critic and lead technology writer at Time magazine from 2002 to 2016. He is best known for the Magicians trilogy, The Magicians (2009), The Magician King (2011) and The Magician's Land (2014), which brought graduate-school seriousness and a good deal of disappointment to a genre that usually promises wonder. Since then he has written the children's books The Silver Arrow and The Golden Swift, an Arthurian novel called The Bright Sword, and the screenplay for the film The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, adapted from his own short story.

Where to start with Lev Grossman
The Magicians is the entry point and the most divisive book here: its hero is hard to like, which is exactly the argument the novel is making. The Magician King is the better constructed one. The Magician's Land closes the trilogy and is the warmest of the three. Codex came earlier, a literary thriller about a lost manuscript, and reads as a first draft of his obsessions.
