Lana Condor

Condor was born in Vietnam in 1997 and made her film debut as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse, a small part in a big machine. Two years later To All the Boys I've Loved Before turned her into the face of a streaming phenomenon, and the trilogy that followed made Lara Jean Covey one of the defining teen-romance leads of the streaming era.

She is very good at a specific and undervalued thing: playing someone whose inner life is louder than her outward behaviour. Lara Jean spends most of the first film being polite while thinking furiously, and Condor makes the gap readable without narration or mugging. That is why the sequels hold up better than most, and why XO, Kitty could bring her back briefly and have it mean something.

The rest is a search for the next fit. Saya Kuroki in Deadly Class is the most interesting departure, a genuinely cold performance in a violent comic adaptation. Koyomi in Alita: Battle Angel and Li in Patriots Day are small. Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken gave her an animated lead, Moonshot and Boo, Bitch put her back in comedy, and Valiant One in 2025 tried her as a soldier. She is still early enough that the range question is open.
