Kenneth Mitchell
Kenneth Mitchell is an actor, born 1974.
A hockey biopic gave him his first widely seen part: Ralph Cox in Miracle (2004), one of the players in the American team story, after a few years of Canadian and American television including Odyssey 5 (2002) and a small role in The Recruit (2003).
Jericho, from 2006 to 2008, gave him a series. As Eric Green he got the kind of part only serialised drama offers, a man defined by an ongoing family situation rather than by a plot function, and the show became a cult item after it ended.
The Star Trek work is the unusual entry. He first appeared as the Klingon Kol in Star Trek: Discovery in 2017 and the production kept bringing him back as different characters through 2021, which says a good deal about how much they enjoyed working with him. Under that much prosthetic makeup, his voice and his posture were doing all of the acting.
Between those he worked constantly, in the way most working actors do: Ghost Whisperer, Switched at Birth, CSI: Cyber, Nancy Drew, Deke Slayton in The Astronaut Wives Club (2015), The Old Man (2022). His largest film credit is Captain Marvel (2019), where he plays Joseph Danvers.
He died in 2024, from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Where to start with Kenneth Mitchell
Jericho shows what he could carry over a long run, and it is the best single argument for him: a post-disaster drama resting on family scenes rather than spectacle, with him in a lot of them.
Star Trek: Discovery is the other essential, and it makes for peculiar viewing once you know to look for him, because he is under so much makeup in so many roles that spotting him becomes part of the fun. Kol is the place to begin.
Miracle is the crowd-pleaser and a good use of a Saturday afternoon, though his part in it is modest. Captain Marvel gives him a small role and he makes it count. The Astronaut Wives Club is the underrated one, a period series with a much better cast than its reputation. The Recruit and The Old Man are for completists.
Star Trek and genre television
Four separate Star Trek characters across several Discovery seasons, which is a franchise record and a piece of casting the show clearly cared about. Jericho is the earlier lead and the cult post-apocalyptic show worth finding.
The films and the rest
Miracle is the hockey film and the early credit people know, Captain Marvel is the biggest, and The Old Man is the late work, filmed while he was already using a wheelchair. The television between them is steady guest work.
