Kelsey Asbille is an actor, born 1991.
Asbille spent her teens in American teen television and then converted it into something much sturdier. She had a recurring role as Gigi Silveri on One Tree Hill between 2005 and 2009, then Mikayla on the Disney XD sitcom Pair of Kings, then Tracy Stewart on MTV's Teen Wolf across 2015 and 2016. Nothing about that path predicts a western.
Wind River in 2017 is the hinge. Her part is not a large one and the film's structure rests on it completely, and she plays it without any of the actorly signalling the material invites. A year later she was Monica Long Dutton on Yellowstone, which ran to 2024 and turned into one of the biggest dramas on American television, and she spent six years playing the one character in that family with any consistent claim to a moral position. Monica is also the role most exposed to the show's habit of putting its women through ordeals, and Asbille kept finding a way to make her more than the thing being done to her.
Since then she has moved to leads, taking the central role of Iris in the Netflix thriller Don't Move in 2024, a thriller that rests almost entirely on her. She also had a recurring part in Fargo, which is not among the credits listed here. It is a small filmography for a career this visible, and the choices in it are unusually deliberate.

Where to start with Kelsey Asbille
Wind River first, if you watch only one thing. She is not the lead and it does not matter, because the film's whole structure rests on her scenes and she plays them without a hint of pleading.
Yellowstone is the commitment, six years of a character who has to keep arguing with a family that never listens, and it is the fullest thing she has done. Start at the beginning; the early seasons treat Monica far better than the later ones do.
Don't Move is the recent lead role and a decent showcase for how much she can carry alone, even if the film around it is a straightforward Netflix thriller.
For the teen-television archaeology, Teen Wolf and One Tree Hill are where she started, and Pair of Kings is the Disney sitcom that pays for the rest. None of the three is necessary, but they explain the trajectory.
