Kae Alexander
Kae Alexander is an actor, born 1985.
Kae Alexander was born Kae Yukawa in Kobe, and has built her working life almost entirely inside British television. The break came through the BBC school comedy Bad Education, where she played Jing Hua from 2012 and carried the part into the 2015 spinoff film. A sitcom job is often the fastest route to becoming a face that casting directors already trust, and it worked exactly that way for her.
What she is good at is holding a scene she has been given very little room in. Ready Player One, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Infinite and Krypton each handed her a name and a handful of lines, and she plays them as though the character had a full day before the camera turned up. Collateral, the BBC Two drama, gave her a real arc as Linh Xuan Huy, and the difference in what she does with the extra space is obvious.
The bigger work has come since. She played Min Farshaw across Amazon Prime's The Wheel of Time, the first role of hers built to last a season rather than a scene, and turned up in Black Bag in 2025. There is also a neat run through modern British comedy in Fleabag and W1A, and a sixth-season appearance in Game of Thrones as Leaf that is not among the credits listed here.

Where to start with Kae Alexander
Bad Education is the sensible entry point, with The Bad Education Movie straight after if the sitcom lands, because both show what she was doing before anyone handed her drama to play. Then jump to Collateral, the strongest argument for her as a straight dramatic actor and the only thing here that lets her build a person across several hours.
On the genre side, The Wheel of Time is the largest role in the list and rewarding if the books already mean something to you. Ready Player One and Krypton are perfectly fine and use her as set dressing. Fleabag and W1A are the comedy footnotes and both are worth it. Black Bag is the newest and the best company she has kept.
