Jonathan Linsley is an actor, born 1956.
Jonathan Linsley was born in Bradford in 1956 and made his professional debut in 1980. British audiences know him for one part, 'Crusher' Milburn in the long-running comedy Last of the Summer Wine, and the record beyond it is short and mostly television: Butch in Dempsey and Makepeace, the SAS drama Ultimate Force, an instalment of The Afternoon Play.
His most widely seen film work is a pair of Pirates of the Caribbean pictures, Dead Man's Chest (2006) and At World's End (2007), as Ogilvey among the barnacled crew of the Flying Dutchman, a job that buries an actor almost entirely under prosthetics and asks him to act through it anyway. Six credits is what this catalogue holds for him, and inflating that into a longer story would not make the career any bigger than it was.

Where to start with Jonathan Linsley
Last of the Summer Wine is the reason anyone is on this page, and it is the only place to see him given real room. British sitcom of that vintage runs on familiarity rather than jokes, and Crusher works because Linsley plays bulk and gentleness at the same time.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is the blockbuster, and his contribution is buried under makeup, so watch it for the film rather than for him. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End repeats the same assignment a year later.
Dempsey and Makepeace and Ultimate Force are for people working through British television of the eighties and the early 2000s respectively. Neither is essential, and it is more honest to say so than to pretend this is a deep filmography.
