Few careers run in this order: horror lead, then network game show, then a decade of Christmas movies, then a prestige spy series. Jill Wagner, born in Winston-Salem in 1979, was Krista Starr in Blade: The Series and its feature-length pilot, and Polly Watt in the low-budget creature film Splinter, still one of the better American monster pictures of its decade. In between she was the on-field host of ABC's Wipeout from 2008 to 2011 and again from 2013 to 2014, standing in the mud narrating other people's collisions.
The Hallmark years make up the bulk of the filmography and they are not an accident. Christmas Cookies, A Harvest Wedding, Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa, A Merry Christmas Wish: that channel needs leads who can play sincerity at speed, without irony, on schedules that allow almost no rehearsal, and she is among its most reliable. It is a real skill and it is invisible when done properly, which is why it never gets credited as one.
Lioness, the Paramount+ spy series, gave her Bobby, a role that finally uses the physical competence the Hallmark work had no interest in. Teen Wolf fans know her as Kate Argent, and Imperfect Women arrives in 2026.

Where to start with Jill Wagner
Right now the answer is Lioness. It is the best-produced thing she has been in, and Bobby is the first role in years to treat her as an operator rather than as a romantic prospect. Teen Wolf is the other high-recognition entry, and her Kate Argent is one of the reasons that show's early seasons worked at all.
For the genre stretch, Splinter is a real recommendation rather than a courtesy one: tight, gruesome, largely confined to a petrol station, and better than Blade: The Series, which had a shorter run than its premise deserved.
Then the Hallmark shelf, which is a mood rather than a ranking. Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa and Christmas Cookies are the December ones, A Harvest Wedding runs the same machine in autumn, and Mystery 101: Dead Talk swaps romance for a cosy puzzle. Braven is the outlier, an action film that lets her do something.
