Jerome Flynn
Jerome Flynn is an actor, born 1963.
Flynn was a fixture on British television for twenty years before the role Americans know him for. A Summer Story in 1988 and Kafka in 1991 got him started on film, and then Soldier Soldier made him a household name in the UK from 1991 to 1995 as Corporal Paddy Garvey. He is a singer as well as an actor.
Bronn on Game of Thrones, from 2011 to 2019, is the part that travelled. It works because Flynn plays the sellsword as the only man on the show doing arithmetic in real time: everyone else has a cause, he has a rate. The comic timing is dry, the trick was never charm, and the self-interest is played completely straight, which is why he lasted to the end of a story that was not kind to talkers.
Between Ripper Street, where he was Bennet Drake from 2012 to 2016, and Banner Creighton on the western 1923, he has settled into a specific line of work: men of few advantages who are hard to shift. He also played Hector in the Black Mirror episode Shut Up and Dance in 2016, which is unlike anything else he has done.

Where to start with Jerome Flynn
Contrary to expectation, the best case for Flynn is not Game of Thrones but Ripper Street, where he gets to be the decent one rather than the funny one and carries considerably more of the show than Bronn ever had to carry.
That said, watch Game of Thrones for the writing he was handed and the timing he brought to it. 1923 is the late-career mode, all glower and grievance, and he is a genuinely effective antagonist in it. Soldier Soldier is the historical curiosity, a 1990s ITV army drama that made him famous at home and is nothing like what came after.
For film, Loving Vincent is the odd and lovely one, every frame oil-painted over live-action footage, with Flynn as Doctor Gachet. John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum is the biggest film on the list and he makes Berrada count in it.
