James Bachman
James Bachman is an actor, born 1972.
Most of James Bachman's career happens where the camera is not pointing. He is an English comedian, actor and writer who has written for and performed in a long list of British television and radio comedy, including That Mitchell and Webb Look, Saxondale, Bleak Expectations and Sorry, I've Got No Head, and that writing work is the substance of the record rather than a sideline to it.
The acting credits collected here are correspondingly small, and the character names tell you exactly how small: Sixth Geographer in Paddington, Gill Wembley in Transformers: Age of Extinction, Rev Hugh Chater in an episode of Jonathan Creek. Crackanory has him down as Various, which is the honest description of a career built on being reliable in one scene and then getting out of the way. The horror anthology The Mortuary Collection gave him rather more to do as Ralph Wilkes.

Where to start with James Bachman
Saxondale is the one to watch, because it is the only title here where the writing and the performing are the same job. His Alistair is a small, precisely irritating presence in a show built around a much larger one, and the restraint is deliberate.
After that, The Mortuary Collection is the most substantial screen part, a portmanteau horror film that lets him play something other than a nervous Englishman. Crackanory is worth a look for the format alone, Jonathan Creek is a solid single episode, and Paddington and Transformers: Age of Extinction are the sort of blink-and-miss appearances that pay for the writing years. If you want the real work, it is on radio and in the sketch shows rather than in this filmography.
