Geneva Carr is an actor, born 1971.
Read down Geneva Carr's screen credits in order and the character names tell the story before the titles do: Woman at Fertility Clinic, Woman in Her 20s, Mrs. O'Mally, Mother. For most of the 2000s she was a New York actor taking the one-scene parts that New York films and network procedurals are built out of, on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Hope and Faith and The Unusuals, and in Then She Found Me (2007) and It's Complicated (2009).
The stage is where the work actually was. She originated the role of Margery in Hand to God on Broadway and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play, which is the sort of credit that changes what a casting director is willing to imagine for you. Screen work followed at a different level: Mary in Wonder Wheel (2017), and then Marissa Morgan on Bull from 2016, the first part on this page written to sustain a whole series.
That role is a good fit for what she does. Marissa is the one in the room who explains how things work, and Carr delivers exposition as though she finds it genuinely interesting, which is rarer and much harder than it sounds. Since then she has moved into voice work as Nooma in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (2024), and she is listed for the Cape Fear series in 2026.

Where to start with Geneva Carr
Almost all of the screen work is in Bull, and it is the only thing here that gives her a full character to build over years. It is a broad network procedural, so calibrate accordingly and watch it for her and for the ensemble rhythm rather than for the cases.
Wonder Wheel is the better film by some distance, a heavily stylised period piece where her scenes are small but the register is completely unlike the television work. It's Complicated and College Road Trip are the studio comedies, and she does exactly what a one-scene part requires in both.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is the surprise, voice work in a children's adventure series made with far more care than it needed. Cape Fear arrives in 2026. If you can get to a theatre instead, the stage work is the real body of it, and Hand to God is the play to look up.
