Fairouz Ai
Fairouz Ai is an actor, born 1993.
Fairouz Ai got her first lead in 2019, as Hibiki Sakura in How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, a comedy about weight training that required her to be loud, hungry and entirely without embarrassment. Casting directors took the note. Within three years she was Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Power in Chainsaw Man, two of the loudest roles in modern anime, and Power is the one that travelled.
The register she is known for is volume with no filter: Power, Delta in The Eminence in Shadow, Hibiki. What lifts her above the novelty is the gearshift. She can drop a shouting character into something small and wounded inside a single line, which is why Power works as a character rather than a running gag, and why Kikoru Shinomiya in Kaiju No. 8 reads as a driven kid rather than a brat.
Her other career is the isekai boom, and the credit list is a map of it: Villainess Level 99, Trapped in a Dating Sim, Skeleton Knight in Another World, Handyman Saitou in Another World, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen, Let This Grieving Soul Retire, Summoned to Another World for a Second Time. She has voiced a large share of the 2020s light-novel adaptation wave, frequently as the aristocratic heroine with a sword and a temper. That volume is how a Japanese voice career is actually built, and it is also why the quiet credits stand out. Pokemon Concierge, a gentle stop-motion series, uses almost none of the equipment she is famous for, and she is very good in it.

Where to start with Fairouz Ai
Power is the calling card, so Chainsaw Man is the start, and the performance is harder than it sounds: a character who is obnoxious in nearly every scene still has to be someone you want back, and Fairouz Ai manages it with timing rather than sweetness. Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc continues it. From there, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure hands her Jolyne Cujoh and a much heavier emotional load, and Kaiju No. 8 is the best straight-dramatic use of her voice, as Kikoru Shinomiya. Go back to How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? for the debut lead if you want to hear where the whole approach started. For the opposite end of the range, Pokémon Concierge is warm, slow and completely unlike everything else on this page.
