Ema Horvath
Ema Horvath is an actor, born 1994.
Horror got to Ema Horvath first. Born in Atlanta, she came up through the low-budget end of the genre: Auna Rue in The Gallows Act II in 2019, then two features in 2020, Sandra in the anthology film The Mortuary Collection and Liberty Wells in What Lies Below, plus the short-form thriller series Don't Look Deeper. That is the standard modern route for a young American actress, and she got further along it than most do.
In 2022 she went from that to Earien, the sister of Isildur, in Amazon's Tolkien prequel The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It is a supporting role in the show's Numenor storyline, and Horvath plays it watchful rather than warm, which is the right call in a series where most of the cast are being asked to be noble.
Then she went straight back to horror, and to a bigger version of it. She plays Shelly across the whole of Renny Harlin's Strangers trilogy, credited in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 instalments. Carrying one character through three consecutive films is unusual for an actor at her stage, and it means the next few years of her filmography are already written for her.

Where to start with Ema Horvath
Begin with The Mortuary Collection, the best film in this pool and the best showcase in it: a horror anthology with real craft behind the camera, and one that gives her more to play than terror.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is the big credit. Her scenes sit in the Numenor half of the show, which is the half that works, and she holds her own in a cast full of stage actors. Be warned that the character is a slow burn across seasons.
The The Strangers: Chapter 1 trilogy is the current project and the reason her name keeps appearing on posters: The Strangers: Chapter 2 and The Strangers: Chapter 3 carry the same character straight through. They are divisive films and the first is the one to test them on. For the smaller work, What Lies Below is a strange, cheap, effective little thriller and The Gallows Act II is where she started.
