Dwayne Hill
Dwayne Hill is an actor.
Most people have heard Dwayne Hill without ever learning the name. A Canadian voice actor, he has worked across more than twenty animated series, and the characters are the kind children imprint on and carry into adulthood: Minimus in Atomic Betty, Cat in Peg + Cat, Samy in Jimmy Two-Shoes, Ed in Spliced, Hatton in Scaredy Squirrel, Dr. Hertz in Braceface, Hunter in Di-Gata Defenders. In 2009 he was nominated for two Gemini Awards and won one of them, for the Atomic Betty ensemble.
His widest-seen credit is not a cartoon at all. He plays Coach Carr in Mean Girls, a small live-action part in a film that has stayed in constant circulation for two decades, which is a strange fate for a career built inside a recording booth.
He is also credited as a creator on the drama series Northern Rescue, a real change of chair for a voice actor, and turns up in feature animation supplying additional voices on PAW Patrol: The Movie and The Nut Job 2. It is not a famous career. It is a busy one, and the work is consistently better than the billing.

Where to start with Dwayne Hill
Pick by who is in the room. With a child present, Peg + Cat is the one to put on: Cat is a nervous, endlessly agreeable straight man to a small girl who solves her problems with mathematics, and Hill's timing is what makes the show funny for the adult as well. Atomic Betty is the award winner and the more conventional cartoon adventure.
On your own, Jimmy Two-Shoes and Spliced are the weirder and meaner shows, and they stretch a voice most listeners have filed as purely friendly. Mean Girls is the credit everybody has already seen, and Coach Carr amounts to a couple of scenes, so watch it for the film rather than for him. Braceface is the nostalgic pick for anyone raised on Canadian animation.
