David Guetta is a French DJ and record producer, born in Paris in 1967, who was running nightclub nights in the city through the eighties and nineties before an international career arrived in his forties. He is largely responsible for the collision of European house with American pop and rap that dominated radio from about 2009 onward. He has sold more than sixty-five million singles, has more than thirty billion streams on Spotify, and has topped the DJ Mag poll five times.
