Darren Korb has scored every Supergiant game since Bastion, working out of a converted closet in his apartment for the first few, and he also voices Zagreus in Hades. The music is what a lot of people mean when they say a game has a sound: acoustic frontier guitar for Bastion, electronic torch songs for Transistor, Greek-inflected rock for Hades. Game soundtracks rarely have an identifiable author, and his is one of the exceptions.

Where to start with Darren Korb
The catalogue holds two, and they are the right two. Bastion: Original Soundtrack is the one that made his name, an acoustic and slide-guitar score for a game about a ruined world, and it works completely on its own away from the game. Hades: Original Soundtrack is bigger and louder, built on guitars and bouzouki, and it collected a pile of awards.
