Cynthia Watros is an actor, born 1968.
Daytime made her. Watros was cast in 1994 as Annie Dutton on Guiding Light, a form that shoots a full episode a day and rarely offers a second take, and she won the 1998 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for it. That soap is not among the credits listed here.
Primetime took her sideways into comedy. She played Erin Fitzpatrick on Titus, holding a straight line through a very dark sitcom, and in 2002 joined The Drew Carey Show as Kellie. The daytime training shows in the timing: she can land an emotional beat with no run-up at all, and she is unusually good at playing women whose warmth has a locked room behind it.
That quality is what Lost hired in 2005. Libby Smith arrives as the kind, steady one and the series spends its next stretch quietly complicating her, feeding out her history in pieces. Watros keeps the kindness legible while letting the gaps show. Around it sits solid character work: Sam Carr on House, Elizabeth Wilson on Finding Carter, Erica on Men of a Certain Age, Helen Jefferies on Profiler, Meredith Kane in Fear Itself.
Since 2019 she has played Nina Reeves on General Hospital, back in the form that trained her, on a series that has been running since 1963.

Where to start with Cynthia Watros
Begin with Lost, though not to judge her on Libby alone. The character is written as a supporting piece, and the interest lies in how much interiority Watros gives her anyway. Watch the flashback material rather than the beach scenes.
For range, Titus and The Drew Carey Show are the counterweight: two very different comic registers from an actor most viewers file under drama. House hands her one of that show's better guest turns, and Men of a Certain Age is the quiet one worth digging out, a small, unshowy adult drama that nobody watched.
If you want the version of her that daytime audiences actually know, General Hospital is where she has spent recent years, and it is a fairer showcase of her craft than any of the primetime guest work.
