Christina Chang
Christina Chang is an actor, born 1971.
Almost the whole career is American television, and for a long stretch it was procedural. Chang, born in Taipei, turns up as a presenter on Globe Trekker early on, then spends the 2000s in the rotation of shows that need a lawyer, a doctor or a federal agent by Thursday: Rebecca Nevins, the state's attorney on CSI: Miami from 2004 to 2010, Professor Anna Young in Eleventh Hour, Claire Post in The Forgotten, Kiki in Rizzoli & Isles, Sandy Chang in L.A. Dragnet. She also played Sunny Macer across two separate seasons of 24, which is not listed among her credits here.
The Good Doctor changed the shape of it. Seven years as Dr. Audrey Lim, from 2017 to 2024, gave her the thing character actors rarely get, which is time, and she used it to build a very particular kind of authority: Lim runs a room by lowering her voice rather than raising it, and Chang never plays seniority as performance. Watch how little she does when she overrules somebody. That restraint is why the character survived a show that kept escalating around her.
Film has been incidental, a handful of small parts in big pictures. Agent Taylor in Live Free or Die Hard is the most visible; there is a bridesmaid in 28 Days and a Laurie in Random Hearts behind it.
Yuna Hollander in Heated Rivalry, from 2025, is the current job, and the first thing in years that has cast her outside the hospital and the courtroom.

Where to start with Christina Chang
The Good Doctor is the body of work, so start there rather than with anything older. Pick a later season, when Lim has authority and history, and watch how Chang plays a senior surgeon as somebody who has stopped needing to prove anything.
Heated Rivalry is the newest and the reason to check back, a very different register from the medical work and the best chance she has had to do something outside a professional uniform.
For the earlier career, CSI: Miami is the long procedural run, useful mainly for seeing how much she got out of a recurring legal role that was written to be functional. Rizzoli & Isles and Eleventh Hour are the same job in different buildings.
Film is thin. Live Free or Die Hard is the biggest thing she is in and the part is small; Random Hearts is the early credit. If you want the oddity, Globe Trekker has her presenting a travel series, which nothing else here would lead you to expect.
The Good Doctor and recent work
Seven seasons as Audrey Lim is the substantial role, a surgeon the show kept putting through rather more than it needed to. Heated Rivalry is the recent change of direction and the most interesting thing here.
The procedurals
Two decades of American procedural television, mostly as lawyers and investigators. CSI: Miami is the longest of them, and the rest are the one and two-season shows that make up most working actors' careers.
The films and early work
The film credits are thin and mostly supporting. Live Free or Die Hard is the biggest, 28 Days is the early one, and the rest are small parts from the years before television gave her something to hold.
