Charlotte Hope
Charlotte Hope is an actor, born 1988.
Charlotte Hope, born in Salisbury in 1988, spent her first screen years in small parts in respectable British films: The Invisible Woman, Testament of Youth, Philippa Hawking in The Theory of Everything, Allied, A United Kingdom. Useful work, none of it hers.
Game of Thrones changed that. Myranda, across the third to fifth seasons, is an accomplice to the cruellest character on the show, and Hope plays her with a cheerfulness that is far more unsettling than menace would have been. She does sadism as flirtation, which is a genuinely difficult note to hit without tipping into camp.
The lead came with The Spanish Princess in 2019, where she carried two seasons as Catherine of Aragon and had to move the character from a teenager arriving in a foreign court to a political operator who has learned the rules. She followed it with a series-regular run on the second season of Bancroft and headlined the true-crime series Catch Me a Killer as the South African profiler Micki Pistorius, which earned her an International Emmy nomination for Best Actress. Neither of those is in this catalogue.
Horror keeps calling, from Sister Victoria in The Nun to The Piper and Bury Me When I'm Dead, with Evil Dead Wrath ahead of her. It is a filmography still waiting for the film role that matches the television.

Where to start with Charlotte Hope
The Spanish Princess is the one that proves she can carry something. Two seasons, a real arc, and a version of Catherine of Aragon that is played as a strategist rather than a victim.
Most people will arrive from Game of Thrones instead, and Myranda is worth studying for how much she gets out of a small recurring part by playing cruelty as good humour. After that, The Theory of Everything and Testament of Youth show the polite British-film phase, competent and constrained. Bancroft is the best of the thriller television, and The Nun is the one with the biggest audience even though the film gives her only its opening stretch. Allied rounds it out if you want the handsome studio version.
