Thirty years of Canadian call sheets is the honest summary of Chad Willett's career, and it is more of a compliment than it sounds. That kind of longevity means series regulars nobody outside the country remembers, television movies with a romance novelist's name above the title, and the occasional American feature shooting in Vancouver.
The early break was Alive, Frank Marshall's film about the Andes crash survivors, produced by Kathleen Kennedy, with Willett as Pablo Montero among the young rugby players. Television followed quickly: Tom Connor on Madison, an astronaut candidate on The Cape, Jean de Metz in the Joan of Arc miniseries, and then a run as Tucker Burns on The Chronicle, a series about a supermarket tabloid whose ridiculous stories keep being accurate. That last one is the cult item and the closest thing here to a signature part.
What he is good at is a specific and undervalued thing: playing decent men without making them dull. It is why he has worked so consistently in television movies, a form that lives or dies on whether you believe the lead is kind. The recent credits have moved him into fathers and authority figures, a dad in Flowers in the Attic, a coach in the 2026 series Off Campus, and small parts in better-financed films including Hector and the Search for Happiness and the 2024 drama Shirley. He also produces, which is what steady working actors do when they get tired of waiting for the phone.

Where to start with Chad Willett
The biggest audience went to Alive, and it remains the best showcase of the young Willett, a survival picture that takes its ensemble seriously and gives him real screen time inside it.
The television is where the actual career lives. The Chronicle is the one to hunt down, a wry science fiction series set in a tabloid newsroom with Willett as its reporter. Joan of Arc is the prestige miniseries, The Cape the space-programme drama, and The Locket a fair sample of the sincere television movies he has anchored for two decades.
Among the recent work, Shirley and Hector and the Search for Happiness are small supporting turns in bigger productions, Off Campus puts him in a coach's whistle for 2026, and Flowers in the Attic is the gothic outlier of the bunch.
