Cassie Steele
Cassie Steele is an actor, born 1989.
Cassie Steele grew up on Degrassi. She joined the Canadian teen series as Manny Santos while still a kid and stayed with it for years, including the spinoff shorts Degrassi: Minis, which means a generation of viewers watched her learn the job in public. It remains the role she is best known for.
The L.A. Complex gave her the adult version in 2012. Abby Vargas is a lead in a drama about people trying to make it in Hollywood, and it is the best acting on this page. Steele is good at playing ambition and embarrassment at the same moment, a harder combination than it looks, and it is why both of her signature roles land.
Voice work has become the steadier income. She plays Tammy Gueterman and Tricia Lange in Rick and Morty for Adult Swim, a gig that has outlasted most of her live-action television. Around it sits a genre filmography exactly as silly as its titles suggest, My Babysitter's a Vampire, Zombie Shark, Mississippi River Sharks, plus the MTV horror film The Dorm, which is not among the credits listed here. She records music as well.

Where to start with Cassie Steele
Go to Degrassi first, though not to episode one. Find the run where Manny becomes a lead and you will see what the fuss was about; the show is blunt about teenage life in a way American networks were not, and Steele carried a fair share of the storylines that gave it its reputation.
The L.A. Complex is the better piece of television and the one to pick if you only have time for a single thing. After that, Rick and Morty for the voice work, where she has recurred across the show's run. My Babysitter's a Vampire is the fun teen horror, and Zombie Shark and Mississippi River Sharks are for viewers who order that sort of film on purpose.
