Aurora Perrineau is an actor, born 1994.
A live-action Jem and the Holograms was the first thing to put Aurora Perrineau in front of a wide audience, in 2015, as Shana Elmsford. It is not a film with many defenders, and it did not slow her down.
Genre took her next, which is where a lot of young American actors serve their time. Giselle Hammond in Blumhouse's Truth or Dare in 2018, Iris in the cool science fiction romance Equals, a vampiress in Freaks of Nature, then The Body and All That We Destroy, and most recently Elsie in Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story.
Television has been better to her. Tanya in Netflix's When They See Us is a small part in a very heavy series and she plays it without a shred of melodrama, which is the hardest note in that show. She was Dani Powell across Prodigal Son, C in Westworld, Riddy in KAOS, and has Every Year After coming.
The filmography is still short, seventeen credits in the catalog, and it has not yet handed her the role that settles the question of what she is best at. On the evidence of the When They See Us work and KAOS, the answer is quiet grief played straight, which is not what the horror films keep hiring her for.

Where to start with Aurora Perrineau
When They See Us has her best work in it. The series belongs to other performers, but Tanya is the part that asks for the most restraint, and it is the clearest look at what she can do when a director trusts her.
KAOS is the second stop and the more enjoyable one, a Greek-myth series with a much lighter touch. Prodigal Son is the procedural work, competent and easy to watch.
Horror completists should take Truth or Dare as the mainstream version and Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story as the strange one. Westworld is a late-series appearance rather than a full arc. Jem and the Holograms and Equals are for the curious only, though Equals has a real visual idea in it.
