A teen mermaid show is an unusual place to begin. Annabelle Stephenson, born in London in 1988 and Australian by career, started as Miriam Kent on H2O: Just Add Water, and she trained after that first job rather than before it, graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art before moving to Los Angeles and shooting a pilot for MTV.
American television gave her the part most people know her for: Sara Munello in Revenge, across its 2013 and 2014 seasons, a show that ran on escalating soap mechanics and needed actors willing to play them entirely straight. Netflix's Tidelands followed, with Laura Maney, and there were films in between, among them Escape Room and Pray for Rain, both from 2017.
In 2020 she joined Home and Away as Taylor Rosetta. In the Australian industry that is less a step down than a base: the soaps are where actors go to work continuously instead of waiting for a phone to ring. The shape of her record is two countries, two systems and constant employment rather than one breakout, which is a harder career to build than it looks and a much easier one to overlook.

Where to start with Annabelle Stephenson
Tidelands first. It is the closest thing here to a role written for an adult, a supporting part in a genre piece that has to stay legible while the plot keeps changing shape around it. Revenge is the bigger audience and the easier watch, and worth it if you like your thrillers with the volume up.
H2O: Just Add Water is for completists and for anyone curious about what a first job looks like, though it is genuinely well-made children's television. The End is the most interesting production attached to her name and her part in it is small, which is a fair trade.
Leave Escape Room and Life After Fighting until last. Both are genre exercises that use her competently and ask nothing much of her.
