Angus Imrie
Angus Imrie is an actor, born 1994.
Radio is the credit that made his name. Angus Imrie has played Josh Archer in BBC Radio 4's The Archers, a serial that has outlasted most broadcasters, and it is the job that gets no space at all on a screen filmography. His first screen work came far earlier, at five, in the BBC drama Station Jim. Both his parents, Celia Imrie and Benjamin Whitrow, act, so the route in was never going to be mysterious. In 2014 he took a most promising actor prize at a national student drama festival.
On camera he does a very particular kind of oddity. Tall, angular, faintly out of phase with whatever scene he is standing in, and directors use that for comedy with a nervous edge underneath it. The Kid Who Would Be King is the clearest showcase: he plays the younger Merlin as a twitchy schoolboy throwing hand shapes he obviously considers normal and everyone around him finds alarming, and the film lifts whenever he appears. Emma. and Fleabag use the same quality in miniature, a few minutes of someone the rest of the room is politely tolerating.
The newer credits spread him wider without changing the register: an agent in Mickey 17, voice work in Star Trek: Prodigy and Back to the Outback, a part in the comedy Man vs Baby. He remains a character actor, and on this evidence that is the correct job for him.

Where to start with Angus Imrie
Watch The Kid Who Would Be King before anything else. It is a children's adventure that trusts its young cast, and his Merlin is the reason the film is remembered fondly by people who saw it at the wrong age.
After that, Fleabag and Emma. make a decent pair, both of them proof that he can take a handful of lines and make a whole social awkwardness out of them. Mickey 17 puts him in a much bigger machine with much less room to move.
For the voice work, Star Trek: Prodigy is the more interesting listen and Back to the Outback the more disposable. Man vs Baby is the most recent thing here and the best indication of where the television career is heading. The Archers, the job he is genuinely best known for, is radio and is not among the credits listed here.
