AngelaBaby is an actor, born 1989.
Modelling came first, then a decade of Chinese blockbusters. AngelaBaby, born Angela Yeung Wing in Shanghai in 1989, moved out of fashion work and into film as mainland production was scaling up fast, and by 2013 Southern Metropolis Entertainment Weekly had named her one of the New Four Dan Actresses, which is less an award than a public bet on who would matter.
The bet mostly paid off. She is at her best in period and fantasy material, where costume and world do half the work of characterisation and she supplies the rest: Chen Yu Niang across the martial-arts pair Tai Chi Zero and Tai Chi Hero in 2012, Yin Ruiji in Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon, Orchid in Rise of the Legend, and Ding Shitian in Mojin: The Lost Legend, the role that brought her the Hundred Flowers Award for best supporting actress in 2016.
The Hollywood detour is the least interesting stretch of the record. Diana in Hitman: Agent 47 and Rain Lao in Independence Day: Resurgence gave her competence and almost nothing else to hold, which is roughly what those films do with everyone. She was better used at home, in The Captain in 2019 and across television in General and I and A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower.
Running under all of it is Keep Running, the variety show she was part of from 2014 to 2023, which kept her in Chinese living rooms every week for the better part of a decade and did more for her fame than any single film. Wikipedia lists her as a singer as well, though nothing musical appears among the credits here.

Where to start with AngelaBaby
Tai Chi Zero is the most enjoyable place to begin, a martial-arts film shot like a video game, and her Chen Yu Niang is what holds the tone together; Tai Chi Hero continues it directly, so treat the pair as one long film. Then Mojin: The Lost Legend, the tomb-raiding adventure that brought her a Hundred Flowers award and remains the strongest case for her as a supporting player.
If you want the extravagant version, Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon is the most spectacular thing on the page. On television, General and I is the long romantic epic her audience actually watches, and A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower is the sharpest change of register on the list. Skip Hitman: Agent 47 unless you are a completist, because the part gives her nothing to do.
