Alina Lozano
Alina Lozano is an actor, born 1969.
Colombian television has used Alina Lozano for decades, almost always in a comic register, and one part fixed her in the public mind: Nidia, in Pedro El Escamoso, from 2001. It was a broad, enormously popular telenovela whose supporting characters ended up quoted as often as its lead, and she was one of the reasons for that.
Colombian audiences also know her as Esther Pimiento in El ultimo matrimonio feliz, Chief Penagos in Las detectivas y el Victor, Judith Mora in El tesoro and Elvira Mora in Pa' quererte, none of which are among the credits listed here. What is here is her 2022 return to the format as Leonor de Mendez in Hasta que la plata nos separe, plus film work: Dedicated to my ex in 2019 and a small part in the 2023 American production Sound of Freedom. She writes as well as acts.

Where to start with Alina Lozano
Pedro El Escamoso is where to begin, and it barely needs justifying: this is the show that made her a household face in Colombia, and her Nidia is a performance of pure comic conviction, played without a single wink at the audience.
Hasta que la plata nos separe is the modern companion piece, handing her a matriarch, Leonor de Mendez, whom she plays as comedy rather than menace. Dedicated to my ex is the light film option. Sound of Freedom is by far the widest-seen title attached to her name, though the part is brief and tells you close to nothing about what she is good at.
