Al Mukadam
Al Mukadam is an actor, born 1984.
Mukadam worked for years before anybody saw his face. He started as a child voice actor in Canadian animation: Angela Anaconda from 1999 to 2001, Franklin from 2000 to 2002, Rolie Polie Olie from 2001 to 2004, close to an entire childhood spent in a recording booth. On camera he became known as Ray Brennan on the Family Channel teen drama Radio Free Roscoe from 2003 to 2005, a series not among the credits listed here.
The adult career has been steady character work on both sides of the border. He is Ross in Miss Sloane, Leo in Kodachrome, Rick Watchorn in Nowhere to Be Found, Taai Nazeer in Pretty Hard Cases, Neel in Ghosts, Brady Dhawan in The Way Home. It is the sort of filmography that suggests an actor casting directors trust with the scenes that have to land fast and without fuss, which is a less glamorous skill than leading and a more employable one.
He is also credited as a director and producer, a route a lot of Canadian actors of his generation have taken, and he has kept the voice work going, including Jayce Chinda in Daniel Spellbound.

Where to start with Al Mukadam
For the serious room, Miss Sloane. It is the best-made film here, a dense Washington lobbying thriller with a script that never slows down, and his scenes hold their own inside it. Then Kodachrome, a gentler road movie that gives him something warmer to play.
On television, Ghosts casts the widest net, a broad American network comedy where he turns up as Neel, while The Way Home is the one with a real arc attached. Pretty Hard Cases is the pick if you want Canadian television doing what it does well, two women anchoring a genuinely funny cop show. For the origin story, Angela Anaconda is unmistakable, an animated series with a cut-paper look that nobody who saw it as a child has managed to forget.
