Ahn Hyo-seop
Ahn Hyo-seop is an actor, born 1995.
Ahn Hyo-seop arrived as a singer before he arrived as an actor. Born in Seoul in 1995 and Canadian, he debuted in 2015 with the group One O One and the single "Love You", then moved into drama the way a lot of Korean idols do, through a fast run of supporting parts: Splash Splash Love, Happy Home, One More Happy Ending, Entertainer, My Father is Strange, Queen of the Ring.
Still 17 (2018) handed him a lead and the run since has been steady. He was Cha-min in the fantasy Abyss (2019), Ha Ram in the historical romance Lovers of the Red Sky (2021), Seo U-jin across the second and third seasons of the hospital drama Dr. Romantic between 2020 and 2023, and Kang Tae-moo in Business Proposal (2022), the romantic comedy that made him an international name.
What he does well is the collision of stiffness and warmth. Kang Tae-moo is a chief executive played almost entirely as a man who has never had a casual conversation, and the comedy comes from watching the formality fail in real time. A Time Called You (2023) asked for something harder, a doubled role across two timelines. The film work has widened the range further: he voiced Jinu in the animated musical KPop Demon Hunters (2025) and played Kim Dok-ja in Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy (2025), with the series Sold Out on You listed for 2026.

Where to start with Ahn Hyo-seop
Everyone arrives through Business Proposal, and that is the right door: a blind-date romantic comedy with an absurd premise, played fast, and the best showcase of what he does with a character who cannot relax. If that lands, A Time Called You is the step up in difficulty, a time-slip melodrama asking him to play two men who are not quite the same person, and a far sadder show than the poster suggests.
Dr. Romantic is the long-form option, a hospital drama with real weight, and his surgeon arrives in the second season. Lovers of the Red Sky covers the historical fantasy register. For the newest work, KPop Demon Hunters is a voice performance inside a genuinely inventive animated musical, and Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy is the big-budget adaptation. Still 17 is where the leading roles began, and it holds up better than most 2018 romances.
