Abby Elliott is an actor, born 1987.
Four seasons on Saturday Night Live, from 2008 to 2012, is long enough to learn the job and short enough that most people remember the impressions rather than any original character. Our earliest credit for Elliott is a 2008 Weekend Update Thursday spot doing Kristen Cavallari. She is the daughter of Chris Elliott and the sister of Bridey Elliott, so the family business was always the business.
The decade after sketch was a lot of pleasant supporting work: Joy in No Strings Attached (2011), Lara in Fun Size (2012), Brooke across Odd Mom Out, Vanessa in Life Partners (2014), Taylor in the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rebecca in Indebted (2020), plus voice roles in Ugly Americans and Star vs. the Forces of Evil. Competent, well liked, and none of it changed how she was cast.
The Bear changed it. As Natalie Berzatto she plays the person doing the emotional administration for everybody else, and she plays it without ever asking for credit, which is a hard note to hit in a show where the default volume is a shout. It is the first role that used her comic timing as a defense mechanism rather than as a joke, and it is the reason the dramatic offers started arriving. All Her Fault followed in 2025.

Where to start with Abby Elliott
The Bear first, and specifically for how she plays a woman managing people who refuse to be managed; Sugar is the calmest performance in a very loud show and the one that rewards a second pass. Odd Mom Out is the best of the earlier comedy and the closest thing to a lead she had before that. For the sketch years, our records hold her Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday spot from 2008, a fair sample of the impression work. No Strings Attached and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the studio credits, small in both cases. All Her Fault is the newest and sits in a straighter dramatic register than anything else she has taken.
